JOSE ALBERTO CARRILLO
WHO IS ALBERTO?
I am a dedicated Civil Engineering student attending NC State University. I have gained diverse professional experience from internships, and I developed leadership skills from experience managing multiple student organizations.
My passions involve leveraging software and technology to optimize, solve, and visualize complex civil engineering problems. My hobbies encompass all aspects of video game development. As a result, I have experience in real-time rendering technologies provided by game engines as well as virtual reality.
Revit Modelling & 4D BIM
Synchro Animation for Logistics Planning
4D Navisworks Animation Demonstrating Schedule
Chancellor's New Residence
Modelled a house in Autodesk Revit as part of coursework at NC State for CE 592 - BIM in Construction.
The model included the structural plan as well as interior detail. It was exported to Navisworks Manage for material quantity takeoff and to create a 4D scheduling animation. Furthmore, a Synchro animation was created to demonstrate the logistics planning for receiving and unloading incoming material shipments.
Excel VBA & Macros
I have utilized Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) in various projects to optimize workflows and use spreadsheets to their maximum potential.
P6 Schedule Activity Generator
Tasked with creating a list of schedule activities from takeoff data while populating quantities for each, the script can generate a list of hundreds of unique activities. The quantities columns are automatically populated for the purpose of cost analysis and updating the schedule of values. By hand, updates would have taken weeks, but the list can be regenerated for any plan revisions within seconds.
Prototype Visualization
Prototype Renders
Using Blender, an open-source modelling program, I have created renders to showcase prototypes for various projects.

Hobbyist Programmer & Game Dev
Self-taught C# programming for developing a variety of projects in Unity game engine. As part of my inolvment in the Video Game Development Club at NC State, I have worked with teams to develop several Virtual Reality and video game projects.
VRoom VRoom Taco - A VR Video Game
My role during development involved art direction for a team of 3 artists. I ensured a consistent theme and quality for all assets as well as designing the layout of the game level for real-scale VR. I was also involved in programming the food generators and customer system. The game was developed for the Oculus Rift and Oculus Quest.
